Who am I? About Me

Few Words About Myself Nice to Meet YoU

Kunal Shah is a young wildlife photographer and filmmaker. With an interest and understanding of various different aspects of the natural world right from the tiniest arthropods to reptiles, birds, and mammals, he is keen on bringing the lesser-known things of nature to the limelight through stories that engage and inspire the audiences. Kunal developed a passion for all things nature right from the young age of 11. Although he started with bird watching, even the smallest insects caught his attention on birding trips. He expanded his horizons and decided to study all the different aspects of nature and their relationship. Kunal got into photography through wildlife; but wanting to narrate his stories and experiences beyond still photos, he soon ventured into content writing and filmmaking.

Savannah Warriors is a natural history film made by Kunal that showcases the fascinating courtship ritual and the brutal territorial fights of the Deccan Fan-throated lizard, a species endemic to the Deccan plateau of India. The film won awards and nominations at 9 international film festivals across 6 countries.

The finishing touch Processing

Wildlife photographers and filmmakers come home with tons of data from the field. It’s the edit table where all the magic happens, where the raw photo straight from the camera turns into a masterpiece worth framing. Cameras don’t always capture the scene as you see it, but the processing has the power to bring the scene back to life or take it up a notch. However, it is difficult to understand the power of processing without comparing the before and after side by side.
